Project Overview

Perera served as general contractor for the emergency stabilization and replacement of the hillside retaining wall adjacent to the Revenge of the Mummy attraction on the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. Work began in 2023 with temporary shoring and support of the existing slope and structure, followed by the main wall package delivered from November 2024 through April 2025. Scope included excavation and slope stabilization on a constrained hillside site, a new reinforced concrete retaining wall, subdrainage and waterproofing, backfill and compaction, and restoration of adjacent hardscape, fencing, and utilities. Work was sequenced around park operations and the attraction's show schedule, with heavy civil equipment staged and operated inside an active theme park with continuous guest access. A Phase 2 package was completed in early 2026.
