Project consisted of the remodel of the Medical Library located on the Plaza Level of the South Patient Tower of Cedars-Sinai Main Hospital Building which added new book shelves, new study rooms, and offices. Scope included demolition, new t-bar, new ceiling and lights, mechanical upgrades, and door & frames upgrades.
Project consisted of renovation split into two phases. Phase 1 consisted of constructing new mail room and lactation room in the south east end of AHSP. After occupancy, phase 2 consisted of combining an existing shell space used as storage with existing vacated areas to create an open work space, staff lounge and private office. The open work space has 18 workstations.
Project consists of equipment replacement in an existing radiography room and adjacent control room. Scope of work includes the following: Provide and install new air terminal unit with reheat coil, install new electrical rough-in/power for new equipment layout all without disturbing existing lead-lined walls. Includes upgrade of all room finishes i.e. flooring, ceilings, casework etc.
Project consisted of complete build-out of an existing 5,801 sq. ft. shell space for new Gastrointestinal (G.I.) Outpatient center for Cedars-Sinai. Project includes (3) Procedure Rooms, (10) Pre/Post Holding Bays, Decontamination & Scope Processing Room, and a Medical Gas Room. Also includes install of new switchgear section required to power new suite and install of new roof-top generator required for emergency power to new suite.
Project consisted of the construction of interior improvements of an existing 40,905 sq. ft. exterior building shell for a full service Health Care facility. To accomplish this, the existing interior of the building will be demolished and new walls and appurtenances will be constructed in accordance with the attached plans and specifications. Improvements include wall partitions, HVAC components, lighting, data and communications for offices, exam rooms and group rooms. The exterior shell will remain intact with very minor alterations.
Project consisted of the historic renovation of the La KretzHouse of Hope Remembrance Sanctuary. The project was successful and completed on time. Due to the detailed finishes, Perera hand selected the “best fit” subcontractor for the project. Perera worked side by side with the DLR Group and the City of Hope to ensure the project maintained the original finished look and all historic requirements where met. The project was a complete renovation of the entire facility - interior & exterior.
Project consisted of the remodel of an existing X-ray room/area to create an expanded Procedure/X-ray room with control room, patient holding room, equipment room, and work areas. The scope of work included the abatement of floor tiles and lead-lined drywall, demolition of wall partitions, ceilings, doors and frames, millwork, and concrete slabs. Underground utilities include plumbing and electrical for the relocation of sinks, toilets, and the X-ray equipment. The new X-ray room consisted of 4 lbs. per sq. ft. lead-lined drywall, Phillips equipment and lead-lined doors, frames, hardware, and windows.
Project consisted of the complete renovation of a 1925 historical building which houses an original fresco commissioned in 1935 by Philip Guston and Reuben Kadish. This restoration project included the recreation of stenciled ceiling panels, elaborate plaster moldings and gold leaf toll painting of exposed beams. The project also included the structural refurbishing of badly damaged termite infested foundation and structural members. Elaborate tiled courtyard, including garden benches and fountain.
OSHPD project consisted of a ground-up addition to include 2 operating rooms, 2 labor rooms and 5 delivery rooms. Project also included the installation of complex security monitoring systems and nurse call. The emergency room addition consisted of new masonry block building includes retaining walls, a glu lam supported roof system with metal stud framing for interior walls. Existing emergency room was also remodeled. Entry and site work were also included in this project.
Project consisted of 253,000 square feet of seismic retrofit NPC work. The OSHPD approved project was re-designed after “Notice to Proceed” with a simpler design resubmitted to OSHPD. There was over 22 phases of construction spread among 7 floors. All mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment was seismically refitted to the building including all fixed hospital equipment, x ray machines, ct scanners cabinets, pharmacy and rentable hospital rooms. The project was delivered 2 months ahead of schedule with a total savings back to the owner of over $1.2 million dollars.
Project consisted of the new construction of 2-story medical office building including surgical services. Masonry building with structural steel decking at second floor and roof. Elevator, med gas, nurse call systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Auxiliary backup generator. Including approximately 60,000 sq. ft. of site work.
Project consisted of a complete remodel of the 1,500 sq. ft. ETO room and improvements to an additional 2,000 sq. ft. in (4) other areas. The trades involved included concrete, flooring, framing, drywall, M.E.P., ceiling, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and painting.
OSHPD project consisted of the complete conversion and remodel of existing Psychiatric Unit. All work done during hospital business hours under strict security and safety regulations. This project was done in two phases.
This OSHPD project is a ground-up addition which added a new 14,000 sq. ft. emergency room and trauma center to the Downey Community Hospital. This new facility was designed to stand alone should anything happen to the existing hospital, whether it be structural failure or power failure.
The project consisted of full design/build services through completion of the construction using a GMP delivery method. This entails the full phased replacement of the core six-pack elevators serving the main existing hospital tower. Project also includes the full demolition and replacement of all elevator, structural, electrical and cab finish components. An entire infectious control plan had to be created and implemented through all construction activities and full schedule activities and shut-down procedures had to be coordinated with all ongoing hospital activities. Full OSHPD approval and lead-time procurement schedules had to be created and tracked accordingly.
Project consisted of the complete renovation to the existing 2 story laboratory at the Beckman Research Center. The project also included installation of a super computer for DNA modeling, staff and doctor offices consisting of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing upgrades, install elevator, microscope leveling, fume hoods, de-ionized water, medical air, medical gas, clear acid waste system and steam clarifiers.
Project consisted of a 22,000 sq. ft. expansion for Cedars-Sinai’s Cancer Center. Expansion housed multiple office spaces/cubicles, as well as spacious private offices.
Perera completed this 2,400 sq. ft. landscape remodel for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center located in a busy intersection of Los Angeles. Work included, drought resistant low watering plants, polished concrete wall, travertine finish wall, seat wall with stainless steel curved back wall (with engraved park information), wood slat bench, color concrete with sand finish walks, and drip irrigation system. Safety precautions such as traffic control, and dust/noise control were crucial to the success of the project. We successfully minimized impact to Cancer Center during demolition and construction. The project won a Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Project consisted of 15,000 sq. ft., ground-up medical center consisting of 16 medical examination rooms, nurse stations, and pharmaceutical dispensary. Project is for a non-profit organization that offers health services to low-income / uninsured individuals.
Project consisted of a 6,500 sq. ft. OSHPD regulated tenant improvement on the second floor of the Steven Spielberg Building located on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Campus in Los Angeles. The project was constructed while labs, exam rooms and offices were in full operation below. The project scope included; infectious control, off hours work, demolition, installing plumbing over sensitive lab space, upgrading electrical system to code, nurse call code blue and emergency pull cords, decorative 3 Form partitions, structural steel upgrades, drywall, millwork, MEP, security card readers, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, flooring and painting. Additionally Perera prepared the space for state licensing and providing all the required testing and reports for the licensing inspection process.
This project remodeled an existing 2,000 sq. ft. space to accommodate a new prostate cancer research facility including architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing modifications and upgrades. Architectural upgrades include an addition of a new wet lab space and tissue culture room complete with new lab benches, bio safety cabinets, Co2 incubators and a -80 freezer enclosure. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades include a new package AC unit, a duct furnace, multiple exhaust fans, an emergency power transfer system and new chemical resistant sinks including chemical neutralization tanks, de-ionized water supply and temperature controlled eye wash.
